Whether you're here for training, practice, or fun, Straight Shooters Indoor Range has you covered.
Getting Started
STEP 1: BRING A BUDDY
Unlicensed individuals must either be accompanied by a licensed shooter or be in a group of 2 or more. We will supply the firearms and ammunition, as well as eye and ear protection. Unlicensed individuals will be supported by a Range Officer at all times. Only licensed individuals can shoot alone.
STEP 2: PAPERWORK/ID
Once you come in you will be required to fill out a waiver and provide a physical piece of government photo identification
STEP 3: DAY PASS
Range passes are priced per person and include a Range Officer for safe instruction, all-day range access, as well as eye and ear protection.
Please ensure you arrive at least an hour and a half prior to closing time to ensure that there is enough time to thoroughly enjoy the experience.
STEP 4: FIREARMS AND AMMUNITION
We have a wide selection of firearms for you to try and we are always adding to the list.
Currently, the majority of the firearms we have for range use can no longer be purchased by Canadian civilians.
See our full list of ammunition and pricing below
A good rule of thumb is to budget $100 – $150 per person per visit.
STEP 5: SAFETY BRIEFING AND OFF TO THE RANGE
Once you’ve filled out your waiver and picked out your firearms, your trusty Range Officer will instruct you on proper safety and handling of said firearms. Once you’re comfortable, you will move on to the range. Your Range Officer will be by your side the entire time to answer any questions and to provide guidance.
If you love the experience, you may wish to sign up for a Canadian Firearm Safety Course and apply for a PAL (Possession and Acquisition License). Once licensed, you may come to the range on your own with no need for a Range Officer.

RANGE REGULATIONS
Frequent Asked Questions
CAN I BRING MY OWN GUN TO THE RANGE?
Yes, you can bring your own firearms to the range. They do need to be correctly secured according to all firearm regulations.
CAN I BRING MY OWN TARGETS?
Yes, all targets are to be made from paper or cardboard. Targets with human facial characteristics are not allowed. Silhouette images are allowed.
IS THERE A MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT?
SSIR does not have a set age requirement; young individuals will only be permitted to shoot at the discretion of present Range Officers & Management. Essentially, the young person must be able to control the firearm and listen to direction from their parent/guardian and Range Officers. Should the Range Officer determine the young person’s participation would be dangerous or ill-advised, they will not be allowed to shoot.
CAN I LEAVE MY CHILDREN UNATTENDED IN THE LOBBY?
NO. They must be directly supervised by an accompanying adult at all times.
CAN NON-MEMBERS WITHOUT A FIREARM LICENCE (PAL) SHOOT AT STRAIGHT SHOOTERS INDOOR RANGE?
Yes, non-members can shoot at SSIR with or without a PAL, this is referred to as a “Walk In”. However, those who do not possess a Firearm License are required to bring at least one additional guest along as part of our safety program.
COMPANY EVENTS/LARGE GROUPS: IS A DEPOSIT REQUIRED?
We can accommodate reservations for 6 or more people, but a deposit is required for corporate / large group bookings.
Note: Waivers will need to be filled out upon arrival so arriving a little earlier than your scheduled time is advised.
WHAT IS APPROPRIATE CLOTHING TO WEAR TO THE RANGE?
Although there is technically no dress code for our shooting range, we can make a few suggestions based on experience. We advise against wearing any low-cut tops (tank tops, V-necks, etc.) or garments with wider neck openings, as brass becomes very hot and can fly down the front of clothing and may cause a small burn. Open-toed shoes are also discouraged. You will not be removed from the range as a result of your outfit choices.
IS IT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?
Yes, our facility is entirely wheelchair accessible (“zero barrier”). If you require additional accommodations, please consult a Range Officer for assistance.
ARE PREGNANT WOMEN ALLOWED TO SHOOT AT PHOENIX?
Legally we cannot prohibit pregnant persons from using the range but we strongly suggest that they don’t given the potential adverse effects of the environment. Range environment is extremely loud (exceeds 135dbs) and is lead exposed.
IS PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) PROVIDED, OR DO I NEED TO BRING MY OWN?
We do have complimentary PPE available (ear protection and safety glasses) for use in the event you do not have your own. Please be advised that the equipment we have available is catered to fit adults, so if you plan on bringing a child along please prepare accordingly.

A Range Pass is good for one entry into the range/ for the duration of the experience after purchase

We estimate that you should budget spend approximately $100-$150 per visit if you are a non-member.
WILL THERE BE SOMEONE THERE TO ASSIST ME IF I’M AN INEXPERIENCED SHOOTER?
Yes. We have Range Officers available at all times, and there will be a Range Officer present at all times for the safety, supervision and instruction of your visit.
ARE PICTURES ALLOWED?
Absolutely! We encourage guests to take as many photos as they’d like. You are welcome (& encouraged) to post photos and comments on our Facebook/Google as long as safe practices are prevalent.
CAN I BRING MY OWN AMMUNITION?
Yes, you can bring your own ammunition to use in your firearms. However, we do not allow steel casings/cores and will be checking ammunition prior to entrance. If your ammunition sticks to a magnet, you will be requested to return it to your vehicle.
Bringing steel ammunition into the range is prohibited, and you may be subject to membership termination and/or range repair fees.
You will not be permitted to use ammunition brought from home/retail/etc. in SSIR range guns for any reason as it violates our liability insurance policy.
